Communities for Renewables CIC and Policy & Finance announce public meeting
A poster published on the Chief Pleas website this week has announced a meeting to be held at the Island Hall at 6pm on Thursday 24th November 2022. There will be a joint presentation from members of Sark’s Policy & Finance Committee and the Managing Director of Communities for Renewables (CfR) CIC.
CfR were appointed as consultants for the proposed new island-wide electricity grid that was approved at an Extraordinary meeting of Chief Pleas in September of this year. CfR is a community interest company, based in Cornwall, which helps communities, public sector bodies and not for profits to set up local energy enterprises and to develop, finance and manage their own renewable energy generation.
CfR will undertake the tender process on behalf of Chief Pleas to investigate and identify preferred partner options to design, build and operate a new grid and associated equipment, including funding options for this project.
