Another week for islanders before the Electoral Register closes

The Electoral Register closes on Friday 18th August 2023 until the election process has concluded; islanders have another week to ensure that they are inscribed onto Sark’s Electoral Register in order to stand or vote in the upcoming by-election.

Nominations for the by-election open at 10am on Monday 21st August 2023 and close at 12noon on Friday 25th August 2023; should there be an adequate number of candidates, the by-election itself will take place on Thursday 7th September 2023 between the hours of 10am and 6pm. Nomination forms can be collected during office hours from the Speaker of Chief Pleas who is also the Returning Officer for elections though cannot be submitted before 10am on Monday 21st August 2023. Completed forms can be returned between Monday 21st August 2023 and Thursday 24th August 2023, between 10am and 12noon and 1pm and 3pm. On Friday 25th August 2023 forms can be returned between 10am and 12noon and should be submitted by one of the persons named on the form.
