Fantastic festival weekend in Sark

This past weekend saw high numbers of visitors to the Island with Sark Fest 2022 having taken place over Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  1,500 tickets were sold with more than 200 volunteers and stall holders including amongst others, the Pimms tent, fish and chips, Guernsey’s Atan Thai food, burgers and doughnuts and Little Sark’s Snack Shack.  The weather was exceptional for the four stages which hosted more than 35 bands from Guernsey, Jersey and the UK.
Simon Couldridge who organises the annual festival with Mark Guillou said:
“SarkFest 2022 was a tremendous success; with glorious weather and more than 1,500 attendees as well as stallholders, caterers, volunteers and band and crew members, there was a chilled and happy vibe through the festival site.  There was the Pimms tent as well as the standard bar, strawberries and cream with local cream from the new Community Dairy and a great selection of food stalls.  There were sadly a few variations to the line-up due to COVID, but we were mainly able to carry on as planned.  The newly unveiled Secret Garden set on the west-facing cliffs with stunning views out across the rest of the Bailiwick as well as beautiful sunsets was a resounding success which saw many intimate acoustic sets successfully supported including Rachael Dawson, George Amorim and Across the Sea to mention only a few.”
SarkFest organisers Simon and Mark would like to thank all those involved in the event and are especially grateful to those locals who accommodate musicians and volunteers as without their kind help and generosity, the festival would not be able to take place.  Keep an eye out for next year’s SarkFest dates on the website: SarkFest 2022 (sarksf.com)
