IOSS records another successful year
The latest publication from the Isle of Sark Shipping Company (IOSS) summarising the financial year October 2021 to September 2022 has announced that the 2022 season has seen volumes recover to similar levels to 2018 and 2019. The release announced:
‘The use of the one vessel, with large capacity and good fuel economy helped considerably to make operating savings and the faster crossing times, later first sailing time was popular with the passengers.
The success was undoubtably assisted greatly by sunny and settled summer weather. The challenge is now to build on a successful summer with a good winter season.
The Company will be introducing a series of special offers in the run up to and post- Christmas periods and introducing a number of sailings on Sundays after the Christmas break.’
It has now been announced that there will additional Sunday crossings in January, February and March 2023 which will aim to encourage weekend breaks. IOSS likewise encourages local businesses with the opportunity to advertise any winter special offers. The update also confirms 2023 fares and schedules.
Luggage allowance announcements have recently caused a furore on social media and is clarified that a preferable weight of 15-23kg is acceptable, and the company asks that shopping is carried on and off the vessel by individuals.
