New Electricity Price Control Commissioner Sworn In

This week saw Mr Shane Lynch sworn into the Office of the Electricity Price Control Commissioner at a sitting of the Seneschal’s Court held on Tuesday 13th December 2022. Former Electricity Price Control Commissioner Anthony White was also present to witness the swearing in of Mr Lynch and both were available later that day to meet informally with Islanders at the Island Hall.

Mr Lynch will be the Island’s Price Control Commissioner for a period of five years from 10th November 2022, and already has experience in the energy sector which, as stated in a previous Chief Pleas press release, includes:

‘… acting as the Chief Executive of the Utility Regulator for Northern Ireland (2009 – 2013). His responsibilities included the regulation of electricity, gas, water, and sewage infrastructure, in Northern Ireland, valued at around £6bn.
