Shane Lynch announced as Sark’s new Electricity Price Control Commissioner

Sark’s Policy & Finance Committee have announced this week that Shane Lynch will take over from Anthony White as the island’s new Electricity Price Control Commissioner.

Dr White was the first person in fill this role since its creation in 2017; he recently published a letter to the residents of Sark on 16th November 2022 also confirming the appointment of Shane Lynch as his replacement and added:

‘… my five-year term of Office has drawn to a close, just as a positive and promising new chapter in the story of Sark’s development unfolds.

An updated power system for the island, which has the blessing of Chief Pleas, opens the prospect of a more affordable, environmentally sustainable, safe and reliable electricity supply for Sark. It is the key to economic growth and prosperity for all. My entire career has been based on this premise.

I would like to place on record my sincere thanks to all who have supported me and my Office during my tenure and I wish my eminently qualified successor every success in the role.

I have every confidence that with goodwill, good governance and expert guidance, all of Sark’s residents will reap the benefits of a truly brighter future.’
